This is our class page where you will find some of the website that we will be using. I will post your assignments and links to blogs and other material you will need for class.
About the Class
This class in based on current events and topics that are in the news that focus on biology. I would like this class to be a discussion about what is going on in the world and all the amazing discoveries that are being found each day.
This class will only meet every other day, so over the 4 weeks we will meet 10 times. Each day I will give the class and article to read and then we will discuss it as a group. You will also be responsible for the following material. You will need to choose 8 article of your choice to read and write a brief summary and response to the article. Your homework will include reading 16 summaries and responses that your classmates have written and make comments back to them. I will ask you to suggest to me an article that you find interesting to use for the full class read and discussion. The last piece that you will need to accomplish throughout the class is to write 2 longer reflection paper, in which you include the use of two other related articles. These papers should be written on your two favorite article you have read and they may be an article from the full class discussion.
